Egyptrixx - Chryalis Records feat Trust
The warbled synth lines in Egyptrixx's last album Bible Eyes at times makes for uncomfortable listening but it all fits together nicely in this track. The drum beat is very reminiscent of the DJ Mujava track from a few years back, attached also cause its qual!!

DJ Rashad - Ghetto Tekz Runnin It
I bought a MicroKorg today so lets celebrate with a tune. I've just started listening to footwork music and I've been missing out as this track will show, the percussion here is ridic!!

Hyetal - The Chase
I've just started to listening to Hyetal's album Broadcast and it sounds really great. The vid for the track attached is representative of the lush synth sound mixed with slightly haunted atmospherics that appears on the record.

Future Islands - Before the Bridge
One of the best live acts I've seen recently is Future Islands. Their lead singer was as theatrical on stage as his voice would imply. Apart from the quality of the tracks what most stood out at the gig was their definite lack of pretence. Last year's record On the Water is highly recommended.

Grouper - Alien Observer
Grouper released two albums last year AIA Alien Observer - Dream Loss. She continues to successfully mine sounds from the ethereal dream-scape that was created on her last record.

John Maus - Believer
It really is hard to believe this sporadically updated blog was begun in 2008, it really seems like no length since then.
One of the albums that didn't feature as frequently as I would have predicted on the end of year album lists was John Maus's cryptically titled - We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves. Its a quality record with a really distinctive mood and sound.
I saw his live show this year and it was certainly distinctive. Mr Maus basically shouted along to his own record. I'm not sure what to make of the gig but it was different.

Ivor Cutler - Shoplifters
Its November, the prime music video watching month of the year - officially -. Our first offering for this month is a song about shoplifting. Ivor Cutler's paen to shoplifters is praising a different type of lifter than Morrissey did but its great nonetheless. and he has a great hat.

Star You Star Me - Sweet Things
This track is from a few years back. I was looking for their collaboration with Erlend Oye and found this.

Martyn - Viper
The video-game Rage was released this week. It's the first game produced by ID in quite a while and it really seemed to just arrive out of nowhere with very little pre-release publicity. I've played a few hours and its a really solid FPS. The same could be said of the new Matyn album Ghost People which is just out (only part not apply - it's not an FPS). Video is like a really souped up OPN graphic used in his live shows.

Walls - Sunporch
New music from Walls! Their music appeals to me on so many levels. Their music has this slight yet discernable nostalgic feel but still sounds new and of its own. Its atmospheric and yet danceable too. Really great stuff to be honest.

The Fall - Barmy
I think one of my favourite things is coming home on Friday evening, after work, having a drink and listening to The Fall before heading out.
You should do the same - thats a Detritus TV recommendation.
