The Adverts - One Chord Wonders

Another rowdy crowd disturbs today's vid but The Adverts cope admirably in the face of some bawdy language and aggressive looks from the assembled onlookers.

You know there may be trouble when a band warn "don't injure us" but all is ok and One Chord Wonder is played to an appreciative audience, Phew.

Bad Brains - Big Takeover Live at CBGB's 1982

McClow has cold and McClow is now typing at computer and drinking lemonsip - sorry wrong social network app, am now in the refined and purposeful environs of a blog. As the late D F Wallace once bemoaned about John Updike "Has the son of a bitch ever had one unpublished thought?" it seems that such could now be leveled at the twittering masses.

But lo it is indeed good to share and to share such things as Bad Brains vids. Check this vid from CBGB's in 1982 which has a crowd as frenetic as the band.

and to show that the manic crowd above wasn't a once of check this vid of same song -

Paul McCartney - Waterfalls

DetritusTV's last post was just before St Patrick's day so you can understand the delay, it took a week or so for the alcohol to drain from our system. But we're now cogent and focused on the task of music video provision.

Paul McCartney joins us today with a quite spectacular vid that also contains some sound words of advice such as "don't go chasing polar bears" - wise words -

John Cooper Clarke - Chickentown

Ok its not a music video but we set the bloody rules here and think punk poet John Cooper Clark can stand his ground against those that demand orchestration with words.

The bloody Drums and guitars
and bloody decks and triangles,
and bloody 808's and 303's,
and ableton, who bloody needs them.

Robert Wyatt & Bertrand Burgalat -This summer night

Robert Wyatt has become a bit of a regular on DetritusTV which is no harm. He has a new track with Bertrand Burgalat and its a quality slice of Gallic infused drama pop.

Nite Jewel - Artificial Intelligence

Nite Jewel has created a much needed new genre - dopey disco. Her languid, ethereal voice and morphine drip production lull you into a becalmed, balmy, nocturnal (dis)coma. She has even been deigned worthy enough to release some tracks on the Italians Do It Better label, that hothouse of all things italowankycool. Her album Good Evening is a soft-centred, beguiling charmer and she is going to be a lot less popular than Lady GaGa, but way better, playing cinderella to the laters Ugly Sister.

Harmonic 313 - Falling Away

DetritusTV has been listening to one of the first great records of 2009 and its by Harmonic 313 on Warp Records.

It has the unwieldy title of - When Machines Exceed Human Intelligence, and when they do maybe they'll make a vid for this track but until then its a static vision of the album cover in all its BBC keyboard and monochrome glory.

Titus Andronicus - Titus Andronicus

Titus Andronicus appear and waltz onto the stage like a whirlygig version of early Idlewild. Its looks like education wasn't wasted on the Titus as not only do they use a latin title for their band they have a song called Albert Camus which is a frenzied rock operatic version of The Plague.
